Youtube Do I Say the Intention Audibly and is there a Supplication for Breaking the Fast? ? Shaykh Muqbil al-Waadi?ee

Questioner: Are there any words to be said for intending to fast, and is it permissible to vocalise it. Are there any supplications to be recited when breaking the fast, and is it permissible to say this audibly? Imam Muqbil ibn Hadee al-Waadi’ee: As for the intention, then we have already discussed this previously. There are no words to be said. That which is correct is that a person does not vocalise [the intention] for any act of worship. The intention isn’t vocalised for any act of worship, even for performing Hajj. Those say that a person vocalises his intention for Hajj, have not brought evidence except what has been reported from the one who said: ‘O Allaah, I am answering your call on behalf of Shubrumah.’ *This wording ‘on behalf of Shubrumah’ can be understood that he is performing Hajj for Shubrumah, and Hajj means to intend. It can also be understood that he is making the intention on behalf of Shubrumah, and it is said just as the Messenger said.
