096 - Soorah al-'Alaq - (The Clot) - [Makkee] |
|
In the Name of Allâh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
[096:001] Read! In the Name of your Lord Who has created (all that exists).
[096:002] He has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood).
[096:003] Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous.
[096:004] Who has taught (the writing) by the pen.
[096:005] He has taught man that which he knew not.
[096:006] Nay! Verily, man does transgress (in disbelief and evil deed).
[096:007] Because he considers himself self-sufficient.
[096:008] Surely, to your Lord is the return.
[096:009] Have you (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) seen him (i.e. Abû Jahl) who prevents
[096:010] A slave (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) when he prays?
[096:011] Have you seen if he (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) is on the guidance (of Allâh)
[096:012] Or enjoins piety?
[096:013] Have you seen if he (Abû Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Qur'ân) and turns away?
[096:014] Knows he not that Allâh sees (what he does)?
[096:015] Nay! If he (Abû Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock –
[096:016] A lying, sinful forelock!
[096:017] Then let him call upon his council (of helpers).
[096:018] We will call out the guards of Hell (to deal with him)!
[096:019] Nay! (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam])! Do not obey him (Abû Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near (to Allâh)! |
