004 - Soorah an-Nisaa. - (The Women) - [Madanee]
[004:106] And seek the forgiveness of All‚h, certainly, All‚h is Ever Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
[004:107] And argue not on behalf of those who deceive themselves. Verily, All‚h does not like anyone who is a betrayer, sinner.
[004:108] They may hide (their crimes) from men, but they cannot hide (them) from All‚h; for He is with them (by His Knowledge), when they plot by night in words that He does not approve. And All‚h ever encompasses what they do.
[004:109] Lo! You are those who have argued for them in the life of this world, but who will argue for them on the Day of Resurrection against All‚h, or who will then be their defender?
[004:110] And whoever does evil or wrongs himself but afterwards seeks All‚h's forgiveness, he will find All‚h Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
[004:111] And whoever earns sin, he earns it only against himself. And All‚h is Ever All-Knowing, All-Wise.
[004:112] And whoever earns a fault or a sin and then throws it on to someone innocent, he has indeed burdened himself with falsehood and a manifest sin.
[004:113] Had not the Grace of All‚h and His Mercy been upon you (O Muhammad [sal-All‚hu 'alayhi wa sallam]), a party of them would certainly have made a decision to mislead you, but (in fact) they mislead none except their own selves, and no harm can they do to you in the least. All‚h has sent down to you the Book (the Qur'‚n), and Al-Hikmah (Isl‚mic laws, knowledge of legal and illegal things, i.e. the Prophet's Sunnah Ė legal ways), and taught you that which you knew not. And Ever Great is the Grace of All‚h to you (O Muhammad [sal-All‚hu 'alayhi wa sallam]).
(V.4:106) The Prophet's seeking of All‚h's forgiveness by daytime and at night.
Narrated Abu Hurairah [radhi-yAll‚hu 'anhu]: I heard All‚h's Messenger [sal-All‚hu 'alayhi wa sallam] saying: "By All‚h! I seek All‚h's forgiveness and turn to Him in repentance for more than seventy times a day." [Sahih Al-Bukh‚ri, 8/6307 (O.P.319)].
