027 - Soorah an-Naml - (The Ants) - [Makkee]
[027:056] There was no other answer given by his people except that they said: "Drive out the family of Lût (Lot) from your city. Verily, these are men who want to be clean and pure!"
[027:057] So, We saved him and his family, except his wife. We destined her to be of those who remained behind.
[027:058] And We rained down on them a rain (of stones). So, evil was the rain of those who were warned.
[027:059] Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]): "All praise and thanks are Allâh's, and peace be on His slaves whom He has chosen (for His Message)! Is Allâh better, or (all) that they ascribe as partners (to Him)?" (Of course, Allâh is Better).
[027:060] Is not He (better than your gods) Who created the heavens and the earth, and sends down for you water (rain) from the sky, whereby We cause to grow wonderful gardens full of beauty and delight? It is not in your ability to cause the growth of their trees. Is there any ilâh (god) with Allâh? Nay, but they are a people who ascribe equals (to Him)!
[027:061] Is not He (better than your gods) Who has made the earth as a fixed abode, and has placed rivers in its midst, and has placed firm mountains therein, and has set a barrier between the two seas (of salt and sweet water)? Is there any ilâh (god) with Allâh? Nay, but most of them know not!
[027:062] Is not He (better than your gods) Who responds to the distressed one, when he calls on Him, and Who removes the evil, and makes you inheritors of the earth, generations after generations? Is there any ilâh (god) with Allâh? Little is that you remember!
[027:063] Is not He (better than your gods) Who guides you in the darkness of the land and the sea, and Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain)? Is there any ilâh (god) with Allâh? High Exalted is Allâh above all that they associate as partners (to Him)!
A) Narrated Anas [radhi-yAllâhu 'anhu]: The Prophet [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] said, "Whoever possesses the following three (qualities) will have the sweetness (delight) of Faith:
1) The one to whom Allâh [Subhânahu wa Ta'âla] and His Messenger (Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) become dearer than anything else.
2) Who loves a person and he loves him only for Allâh's sake.
3) Who hates to revert to Kufr (disbelief) as he hates to be thrown into the fire."
[Sahih Al-Bukhari, 1/16 (O.P.15)]
B) Narrated Abû Hurairah [radhi-yAllâhu 'anhu]: Allâh's Messenger [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] was asked, "What is the best deed?" He replied, "To believe in Allâh [Subhânahu wa Ta'âla] and His Messenger (Muhammad )." The questioner then asked, "What is the next (in goodness)?" He replied, "To participate in Jihâd (holy fighting) in Allâh's Cause." The questioner again asked, "What is the next (in goodness)?" He replied, "To perform Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah) Mabrûr (which is accepted by Allâh and is performed with the intention of seeking Allâh's Pleasures only and not to show-off and without committing any sin, and in accordance with the legal ways of the Prophet )."
[Sahih Al-Bukhari, 1/26 (O.P.25)]
C) Narrated 'Abdullâh [radhi-yAllâhu 'anhu]: When the following Verse was revealed: "It is those who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh and worship none but Him Alone) and confuse not their belief with Zulm (wrong, i.e., by worshipping others besides Allâh.)..." (V.6:82), the Companions of Allâh's Messenger [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam] said, "Who is amongst us who had not done Zulm (wrong)?" Then Allâh [Subhânahu wa Ta'âla] revealed: "Verily, joining others in worship with Allâh is a great Zulm (wrong) indeed." (V.31:13)
[Sahih Al-Bukhari, 1/32 (O.P.31)]
