[047:030] Had We willed, We could have shown them to you, and you should have known them by their marks; but surely, you will know them by the tone of their speech! And Allh knows (all) your deeds.

[047:031] And surely, We shall try you till We test those who strive hard (for the Cause of Allh) and As-Sbirn (the patient), and We shall test your facts (i.e. the one who is a liar, and the one who is truthful).

[047:032] Verily, those who disbelieve, and hinder (men) from the path of Allh (i.e. Islm), and oppose the Messenger [sal-Allhu 'alayhi wa sallam] (by standing against him and hurting him), after the guidance has been clearly shown to them, they will not harm Allh in the least, but He will make their deeds fruitless,

[047:033] O you who believe! Obey Allh, and obey the Messenger (Muhammad [sal-Allhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) and render not vain your deeds.

[047:034] Verily, those who disbelieve, and hinder (men) from the path of Allh (i.e. Islm); then die while they are disbelievers Allh will not forgive them.

[047:035] So, be not weak and ask not for peace (from the enemies of Islm) while you are having the upper hand. Allh is with you, and He will never decrease the reward of your good deeds.

[047:036] The life of this world is but play and pastime; but if you believe (in the Oneness of Allh Islmic Monotheism), and fear Allh, and avoid evil, He will grant you your wages, and will not ask you your wealth.

[047:037] If He were to ask you of it, and press you, you would covetously withhold, and He will bring out all your (secret) ill-wills.

[047:038] Behold! You are those who are called to spend in the Cause of Allh, yet among you are some who are niggardly. And whoever is niggardly, it is only at the expense of his own self. But Allh is Rich (Free of all needs), and you (mankind) are poor. And if you turn away (from Islm and the obedience to Allh), He will exchange you for some other people and they will not be your likes.

(V.47:32) A. Narrated Ab Ms [radhi-yAllhu 'anhu]: The Prophet [sal-Allhu 'alayhi wa sallam] said, "The example of guidance and knowledge (the Qur'n and the Sunnah) with which Allh has sent me, is like abundant rain falling on the earth, some of which was fertile soil that absorbed rain water and brought forth vegetation and grass in abundance. (And) another portion of it was hard and held the rain water and Allh benefited the people with it and they utilized it for drinking, making their animals drink from it and irrigating the land for cultivation. (And) a portion of it was barren which could neither hold the water nor bring forth vegetation (then that land gave no benefits). The first is the example of the person who comprehends Allh's religion (Islam) and gets benefit (from the knowledge) which Allh [Subhnahu wa Ta'la] has revealed through me (the Prophet ) and learns and then teaches it to others. The last example is that of a person who does not care for it and does not take Allh's Guidance revealed through me (He is like that barren land)." [Sahih Al-Bukhari, 1/79 (O.P.79)]

B. Guidance is of two kinds:

a) Guidance of Taufq and it is totally from Allh, i.e. Allh opens one's heart to receive the truth (from disbelief to belief in Islamic Monotheism).

b) Guidance of Irshd, i.e. through preaching by Allh's Messengers and pious preachers who preach the truth, i.e. Islamic Monotheism.
