081 - Soorah at-Takweer - (Winding round and losing its Light) - [Makkee]
In the Name of All‚h, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
[081:001] When the sun shall be wound round and its light is lost and is overthrown.
[081:002] And when the stars shall fall.
[081:003] And when the mountains shall be made to pass away;
[081:004] And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected;
[081:005] And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together.
[081:006] And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire (or shall overflow).
[081:007] And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies (the good with the good and the bad with the bad).
[081:008] And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned:
[081:009] For what sin was she killed?
[081:010] And when the (written) pages [of deeds (good and bad) of every person] shall be laid open.
[081:011] And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place;
[081:012] And when Hell-fire shall be set ablaze.
[081:013] And when Paradise shall be brought near.
[081:014] (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil).
[081:015] So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night).
[081:016] And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves.
[081:017] And by the night as it departs.
[081:018] And by the dawn as it brightens.
[081:019] Verily, this is the Word (this Qur'‚n brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibr‚Ól (Gabriel), from All‚h to Prophet Muhammad [sal-All‚hu 'alayhi wa sallam]].
[081:020] Owner of power (and high rank) with (All‚h), the Lord of the Throne,
[081:021] Obeyed (by the angels in the heavens) and trustworthy.
[081:022] And (O people) your companion (Muhammad [sal-All‚hu 'alayhi wa sallam]) is not a madman.
[081:023] And indeed he (Muhammad [sal-All‚hu 'alayhi wa sallam]) saw him [Jibr‚Ól (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east).
[081:024] And he (Muhammad [sal-All‚hu 'alayhi wa sallam]) withholds not a knowledge of the Unseen.
[081:025] And it (the Qur'‚n) is not the word of outcast Shait‚n (Satan).
[081:026] Then where are you going?
[081:027] Verily, this (the Qur'‚n) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the '¬lamÓn (mankind and jinn)
[081:028] To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight.
[081:029] And you cannot will unless (it be) that All‚h wills Ė the Lord of the '¬lamÓn (mankind, jinn and all that exists).
(V.81:1) Narrated Abu Hurairah [radhi-yAll‚hu 'anhu]: The Prophet [sal-All‚hu 'alayhi wa sallam] said, "The sun and the moon will be folded up (or joined together or deprived of their lights) on the Day of Resurrection." [See (V.75:9)] [Sahih Al-Bukhari, 4/3200 (O.P.422)]
(V.81:8) Narrated Al-MughÓrah bin Shu'bah [radhi-yAll‚hu 'anhu]: The Prophet [sal-All‚hu 'alayhi wa sallam] said, "All‚h has forbidden for you: (1) to be undutiful to your mothers, (2) to bury your daughters alive, (3) not to pay the rights of the others (e.g., charity), and (4) to beg of men (i.e., begging). And All‚h hates for you: (1) sinful and useless talk like backbiting, or that you talk too much about others, (2) to ask too many questions (in disputed religious matters), and (3) to waste the wealth (by extravagance with lack of wisdom and thinking)." [Sahih Al-Bukhari, 3/2408 (O.P.591)]
a) Narrated Abu Hurairah [radhi-yAll‚hu 'anhu]: The Prophet [sal-All‚hu 'alayhi wa sallam] said, "There was no Prophet among the Prophets but was given miracles because of which people had security or had belief, but what I have been given is the Divine Revelation which All‚h has revealed to me. So I hope that my followers will be more than those of any other Prophet on the Day of Resurrection." [Sahih Al-Bukhari, 9/7274 (O.P.379)]
b) It is obligatory to have belief in the Messengership of the Prophet (Muhammad ). Narrated Abu Hurairah [radhi-yAll‚hu 'anhu]: All‚h's Messenger [sal-All‚hu 'alayhi wa sallam] said: "By Him (All‚h) in Whose Hand Muhammad's soul is, there is none from amongst the Jews and Christians (of these present nations) who hears about me and then dies without believing in the Message with which I have been sent (i.e. Isl‚mic Monotheism), but he will be from the dwellers of the (Hell) Fire." [Sahih Muslim, the Book of Faith, Vol.1, Hadith No. 153 (S.S.M. 20)] See also (V.3:85) and (V.3:116).
