Hadeeth #30
عَنِ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْخُشَنِيِّ جُرْثُومِ بْنِ نَاشِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ
On the authority of Tha`labah al-Khushanee Jurthoom ibn Naashir - Radiyallaahu `anhu – that the Messenger of Allaah – Sallallaahu `alayhi wasallaam, said:
إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى فَرَضَ فَرَائِضَ فَلاَ تُضَيِّعُوهَا، وَحَدَّ حُدُودًا فَلاَ تَعْتَدُوهَا
“Verily, Allaah the Most High has prescribed the obligatory deeds, so do not neglect them; and He has certain limits, so do not go beyond them
وَ حَرَّمَ أَشْيَاءَ فَلاَ تَنْتَهِكُوهَا، وَسَكَتَ عَنْ أَشْيَاءَ رَحْمَةً لَكُمْ غَيْرَ نِسْيَانٍ فَلاَ تَبْحَثُوا عَنْهَا
“He has forbidden certain things, so do not indulge in them; and He has remained silent about certain things, as an act of mercy to you – not out of forgetfulness, so do not seek after them.”
حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ. رَوَاهُ الدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ وَ غَيْرُهُ
