Policy on Advertising
Addendum to the General Policy.
TriniMuslims.com is a not-for-profit site, and we are keen on ensuring that marketing and advertising not be part of its operating model. Therefore, pertaining to Marketing and Advertising products, services, information, individual or company (hereafter referred to collectively as 'product') on the site, it is agreed and held that until further notice, there shall be no advertising of any kind on any post, thread, username, user signature, or any other form of user content (including avatars) on this website, except in the following cases:
- on forums that are specifically identified for Advertising; Ads must not promote haram, and cannot contain undesirable content (such as pictures of persons, etc).
- Where the product that is being promoted is a not-for-profit or friendly-society entity, formed for the purpose of promoting the Deen (Islaam) or some related purpose (such as NikaahLink); this is to be determined at the discretion of the Site Administration;
- Where the mention of the product forms part of a general discussion
on the product which is not for the express purpose of marketing or selling the product by a stakeholder who stands to make some profit by the post; Ideally, the discussion should not be initiated
(or deemed that the course of the discussion is purposely being changed or diverted) by the party that has a stake in the promotion of the product; this is to be determined at the discretion of the Site Administration;
(So for instance, a normal consumer can post on KFC, but the owners of KFC should not be posting to market their product.)
- Where it is allowed at the discretion of the Site Administration.
This Notice is with immediate effect, and as such, users may be asked to have their usernames changed. The Site Admins have the right to edit/change user content that is found not to comply with these guidelines.
Note also that notwithstanding the above exceptions, spamming will not be tolerated.
